How reuse shops help boost the circular economy

With the cost-of-living crisis showing no signs of easing, second-hand consumerism looks set to go mainstream, as shoppers look for cheaper options for daily items. In part to answer this demand, there is now a growing need for more reuse shops to supply repaired household goods, so that consumers can participate in the circular economy.

Biography

Nigel is the New Zealand National Planning Manager and manages the Dunedin office. He has over 20 years of resource management experience and brings strong leadership skills to projects and an ability to foster excellent working relationships with clients and within project teams.

Nigel’s extensive work throughout the South Island, including projects in Queenstown, Wanaka, Dunedin, Timaru and wider Canterbury and Southland regions, has given him an excellent understanding of the integrated nature of the New Zealand planning system, enabling him to deliver innovative solutions in the projects and processes he is involved with. His specialist knowledge in project managing large greenfield and brownfield development projects includes dealing with development proposals in some of New Zealand’s most sensitive landscape settings.
