How reuse shops help boost the circular economy

With the cost-of-living crisis showing no signs of easing, second-hand consumerism looks set to go mainstream, as shoppers look for cheaper options for daily items. In part to answer this demand, there is now a growing need for more reuse shops to supply repaired household goods, so that consumers can participate in the circular economy.

Environmental & social impact assessment

Challenge

SLR worked with Kiama Municipal Council to provide environmental assessment and approvals documentation.

This also involved the preparation and implementation of an engagement strategy to support a Part 4 Development Application (DA). The DA required Council Assessment of the Bombo Headland staircase which is located in a highly sensitive State listed heritage precinct, with ecological and visual values.
